Cowley's Building & Maintenance Ltd has been operating since 1996 under the control of Mr Gary Cowley, Managing Director and founder of the business. Gary Cowley started out aged 17 years as an apprentice in a joiner's shop before working as a shop-fitter and going on to complete his City & Guilds Craft Certificate in carpentry and joinery. He then went on to qualify as a Licentiate of the Institute of Carpenters before progressing into supervisory/managerial positions for large construction companies in the city, with first hand involvement at management level of many major construction projects. The Cowley's business has been built and grown progressively through Gary's first class reputation for quality and high standards of work. Gary is also a strong advocate of customer satisfaction at all costs and Cowley's strive to provide an efficient service to all clients at all times. Cowley's is now proud to boast a team of dedicated skilled workers who make up the work force which operate from their premises in Pinhoe Exeter and include Carpenters, an Electrician, and General Operatives. Together we offer a comprehensive Building & Maintenance service structured to meet individual client needs valued between £100 and £500,000 for project and small works within a 100 mile radius of Exeter, Devon. We are also able to work further a field and can track the location of our fleet of vehicles with the use of our up to date tracking system. All the staff at Cowley's are fully CRB cleared, wear corporate uniforms and carry identification along with the use of sign written vehicles. |

Tony joined the company in 2005 as an estimator and has spent all his working life in construction. He has various City & Guilds and Institute of Building qualifications and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building. He has a vast experience in all aspects of the Building trade and has worked with various companies in the South West, starting off as an apprentice Carpenter & Joiner, and then progressing on to Site Agent, Supervisor and Surveyor/Estimator. He now has a major input into the running & expansion of the Company in working to make Cowley's Building & Maintenance Ltd into a trusted, respected & efficient Contractor in the area. Steve Rowles joined the Company in May 2009 to assist Tony Smale in the Estimating Department. Steve has worked on all types of work within the building industry, throughout the South West Area, for Loacl Authority, Health Authority, Breweries and many Private Clients. The work ranging from general building maintenance to re-furbishment, bar re-fits and new build. Steve has worked his way up through the ranks from being an apprentice served City & Guilds Carpenter to Site Forman, Small Works Manager and a Contracts Manager. Steve is now enjoying his new position as an Estimator and the challenges it brings with it. |

Chris Reed joined Cowley's in January 2006. Chris has extensive experience within the Construction Industry having spent many years working and managing large construction projects and Social Housing Work. Chris originally served his apprenticeship with Birmingham City Council gaining multi qualifications in carpentry and joinery and then Moving on to study all building trades to a high level. Whilst working for the Local Authority he became a Foreman/Supervisor leading a team of workers in major renovations on all Local Authority buildings. After serving 18 years he decided to re locate to Devon and that was when he joined the Prison Service. Chris originally joined the Prison Service as a Maintenance Operative and also became the Prison Locksmith. He worked his way up to finally become an Instructional Officer within the workshops supervising the work of inmates He became lead Instructional Officer before leaving to join Cowleys Building and Maintenance in 2006. On joining Cowleys in 2006 he brought with him his considerable building trade experience. That together with his knowledge of man management has made him an invaluable Operations Manager and he is now solely responsible for the coordination of Cowleys workforce with sub contractors and all quality control matters. He is also responsible for the liaison between clients and the workforce. Chris recently became a Director of Cowley's Building & Maintenance Ltd. |

Claire Cox Joined Cowley's in September 2004 in a part time capacity. Claire has now taken on a full time position within the company as Office Manager. Claire is responsible for Reception Duties, Account Management, Sales Ledgers, Credit Control, Payroll and will be happy to assist with any queries. Claire recently became a Director of Cowley's Building & Maintenance Ltd |
