In March 2011 Gary Cowley, founder of the business decided he wanted to sell the Company, as his trusted Managers ran the Company for him it was a natural progression for them to buy the business from him. Claire Cox, Chris Reed and Steve Rowles are now enjoying their added role of being company owners and all that it brings.

Our mission is to drive the company forward. We have recently achieved CHAS accreditation which is a Health & Safety scheme and have been awarded "The Green Accord" which is Exeter City Council's sustainability award for the building sectors, this we feel will enhance our opportunities and expand our Client base.
 
Claire Cox – Director/Office Manager

Claire joined Cowley’s in 2004 and became Office Manager in 2006.

Claire previously worked as a Bookkeeper and is responsible for the financial management of the Company and all aspects of running an efficient up to date office.  

Claire is the first point of contact for the company and is happy to assist with all enquiries.

Claire enjoys in her spare time spending time with her three boys and Golden Retriever Max.
 
Chris Reed – Director/Operations Manger

Chris Reed joined Cowley's in January 2006. He has extensive experience within the Construction Industry working and Managing large Construction projects and Social Housing Work.

Chris originally served his apprenticeship with Birmingham City Council gaining multi qualifications in Carpentry and Joinery, moving on to study all Building trades to a high level. He became a Foreman/Supervisor leading a team of workers in major renovations on all Local Authority buildings. After 18 years of Public Service he decided to relocate to Devon.

He brought with him his considerable building trade experience and together with his knowledge of man management has made him an invaluable Operations Manager.

Chris takes responsibility for liaison between our Clients and workforce. He holds the C.I.T.B. Site Management Safety Certificate and deals with all Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality control matters.

Chris enjoys in his spare time working on his home and helping his children with their paper rounds!
 
Steve Rowles – Director/Estimator

Steve joined Cowley’s in May 2009 to take over the role of Estimator. He worked his way through the ranks, from Apprentice served Carpenter where he gained his City and Guilds, to Site Foreman, Small Works Manager to Contracts Manager.

Steve has worked and managed all types of projects within the Construction Industry throughout the South West, from refurbishments, New Builds, Bar refits, bringing with him several Clients.

Steve’s wealth of knowledge from ground level up gives him the experience and edge to competitively price all works.

Steve enjoys in his spare time a good round of golf
